Responsible for:
• The meticulous and thoughtful care in ensuring that each room, including the charming balconies, is immaculately cleaned and prepared for our valued guests.
• The role will involve maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of various public spaces within the properties, including the inviting banquet room, the welcoming guest reception area, the well-traveled hallways, the elevators, and the well-maintained public restrooms.
• The maintenance and upkeep of public spaces in the designated buildings: Village Market, Gratitude, Aurora Cooks!, Fargo Bar & Grill, 441 offices, Woodhouse, Taylor House, VanDuyne, Wallcourt Cottage and the Schoolhouse.
• The candidate is required to have availability on weekends and be flexible with scheduling.
Essential Functions:
• Clean assigned rooms in accordance with IOA cleanliness standards. This entails making beds, tidying bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, disposing of trash, arranging furniture, and fulfilling other requested responsibilities.
• Ensure cleanliness of public areas by maintaining tidiness, removing trash, performing floor mopping, and carpet cleaning as required.
• Clean light fixtures, ceiling fans, windows, and glass doors as assigned.
• Ensure that all rooms are stocked with necessary items such as paper items, soap, and towels.
• Clean the exterior entry areas and hallways.
• Maintain and restock housekeeping rooms baskets and supply caddies each day.
• All lost and found items should be taken to the housekeeping manager/supervisor for the purpose of logging and storage.
• Please promptly inform the Housekeeping Manager/Supervisor about any unusual occurrences in the guest rooms.
• Welcome and assist guests with their special requests.
• Ensure the confidentiality and security of the room.
• Ensure linen closets and supply areas maintain a clean and orderly appearance.
• Report any maintenance needs to Manager or Supervisor.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Comply with all work regulations, protocols, and guidelines established by the Inn, which includes, but is not limited to, those outlined in the employee handbook.
• The Inn operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. The schedules of the department must be flexible to meet changing business needs and seasonal demands. Employees may be required to work shifts that differ from their preferred or regular working hours.
Education and Experience:
• 1 Year previous experience as housekeeper or house attendant in a luxury setting. (Preferred, not required)
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.
• Ability to work independently
• Attention to detail
• Takes pride in quality of work
• Ability to climb stairs multiple times during your shift
• Support for Front Desk, Inn Keepers as well as guest to create a positive guest experience.
