The Amazon Payment Acceptance and Experience Team is responsible for how Amazon’s customers pay on and off Amazon’s sites around the world. We’re growing and currently looking for a Front End Engineer to help us improve, iterate and reimagine the payment experience at Amazon, shaping the next generation of payments ... Key job responsibilities
• Work with a wide variety of internal business partners and teams to craft a modern, elegant payment experience for one of the largest product catalogs in the world.
• Leverage expertise with the React framework (web and Native) to build and maintain a scalable UI framework encompassing the company's core payment functionalities.
• Partner closely with key stakeholders to deeply understand customer needs and translate them into innovative, user-centric payment solutions.
• Work collaboratively with designers, writers, product managers, and engineers to implement cutting-edge design prototypes, concepts, and development tools.
• Advocate for high accessibility standards by ensuring all components and templates meet stringent benchmarks.
• Contribute to key system documentation and technical infrastructure strategies aimed at streamlining go-to-market timelines.
• Apply strong user-centered development principles and possess a comprehensive understanding of web development best practices.
About The Team
The Amazon Payments Design team designs the global shopping experience for Amazon customers wanting to leverage their account and benefits with external merchants, in-store and online. We own, design and implement the front end code for features that make it easy for customers to discover, evaluate, and transact with Merchants.
Our team is uniquely positioned to drive Innovation - leveraging insights from customer and merchant research, defining problem statements that address pain points and opportunities, ideating on solutions, building prototypes, and testing/validating with customers. This work is critical to deliver unique, customer focused experiences that differentiate us and create a unique customer experience.

Basic Qualifications
• 3+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience
• 2+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
• A minimum of 1 year of demonstrably successful experience with React Native development.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like Angular and JavaScript libraries like React, Redux.
• Experience with Typescript, ECMAScript 6, and Front-End build tools like Webpack, Rollup.
• Experience with modern front-end development workflows and responsive design principles.
• Proficiency in web fonts and typography optimization.
• Understanding of A/B testing frameworks and their practical application.
• A proven ability to coach and mentor others on best practices for front-end development.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
• Retail/E-commerce experience in a global context with the knowledge of Payments domain.
• A track record of creating, maintaining, and advocating for the use of consistent style guides throughout web applications.
• Familiarity with iOS and Android development
• Knowledge of AWS services

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
