The Warehouse Associate's main responsibilities include picking materials for shipping, stocking shelves, sorting returned equipment, counting materials, computer data entry, and general housekeeping. The successful candidate will also be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, working with other shipping/receiving departments, and maintaining all associated records. Candidates must have great communication skills, basic computer skills, and be able to operate material handling equipment such as fork trucks, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and carts.
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills )
• High School graduate
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
• Be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain GPC forklift certification.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
• Customer Service (Effective communication with customers, provide a sense of urgency to get our customers materials. Work with Management on issue resolution, shortages, and product problems.)
• Metering products inventory and warehousing duties (Floor counts/proper placement/audit readiness and support/Maximo)
• Metering material receipt inspections
• Sorting of Metering equipment
• Shipping and Receiving coordination.
• Metering material relocation

Note: This is a position covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Georgia Power and IBEW Local 84 and is governed by this agreement. Union membership is optional. The starting salary for a Warehouse Associate is $4186 per month (non-negotiable and level of experience does not apply) and this pay is governed by this agreement which includes an increase every six months assuming satisfactory performance, until you max out in your job classification and a negotiated general increase every July.

This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:
• Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver’s license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver’s license).
• Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.
• Must consent to a continuous monitoring of your Motor Vehicle Record
