Precision Terminal Logistics strives to be the premier transloading and materials handling company. PTL loads and unloads railcars, trucks and tanks, focusing primarily on the handling of dry and liquid bulk materials (high value, hazardous, and non-hazardous).The transloading process utilizes specialized equipment including but not limited to electric pumps, portable conveyors ... compressed air blowers and other manually operated equipment.
Our customer service representatives prepare shipping documents and operate inventory management systems. Our operators/loaders operate pumps, portable conveyors, cranes, front-end loaders and other transloading equipment. PTL operates according to Regulatory, Customer and our own operational procedures (SOP’s) in a “controlled document” atmosphere.
The Operator/Loader position requires the individual to manually perform transfers of commodities with specified equipment, conduct inspections utilizing checklists while donning proper personal protective equipment in accordance with the facility’s process-oriented environment according to PTL requirements with one-hundred percent accuracy with their safety continually in mind. Purpose
The Coordinator/CSR will comply with PTL standards and to the four core values of safety, quality, honesty and efficiency to ensure their safety and to perform their duties in compliance with operations, as well as regulatory compliance and Shipper/Customer requirements.
Quality and Customer Service Responsibilities
• To be at work on time and able to follow PTL policies and procedures for tardiness and paid time off.
• To work in provided computer systems for business entries and for controlling Shipper/Customer inventories.
• To coordinate shipments with trucking companies if needed.
• If applicable, to comply with training given to weigh trucks/trailers via a certified scale system.
• To properly fill out checklists (Truck Arrival, etc.), Bills of Lading, weigh tickets as provided.
• To utilize basic math skills.
• To follow the facility’s verification standard written procedures.
• To ensure Shipper/Customer Operational Procedures are followed.
• To participate in daily Safety/Quality Briefings.
• To perform in-office housekeeping duties to include bathrooms, break rooms, trash, office equipment, furniture, etc.
• To comply with cross-training to be able to perform duties of another Shipper’s commodity requirements.
• To work overtime as needed and to work to meet a Shipper’s/Customer’s schedule.
• To be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
Employee Training Responsibilities
• To be able to read PTL policies/procedures, Shipper/Customer procedures (SOPs) and to take written examinations in English.
• To comply with training given for regulatory and safety/quality required training subjects applicable to the facility.
• To follow a checklist and to fill out the checklist properly after proper training.
Environmental Health & Safety Responsibilities
• To respond to an incident to the extent of the training received with practiced Mock Drills.
• For compliance of all Federal, State and Local regulatory standards. (Waste, Proper Bills of Ladings)
• For personal hygiene and housekeeping responsibilities.
Communications and Reporting Responsibilities
(Written and Verbal)
• To understand and communicate in English.
• To properly greet visitors utilizing a safety briefing checklist and sign-in sheet.
• To understand and comply with Shipper/Customer confidentiality when discussing Shipper accounts.
• For proper telephone etiquette and proper emails to business associates.
• Including, but not limited to non-conformance reporting.
• To report any non-conformance, breakage or misuse of office equipment.
• To report any vandalism or breach of entry.
• To communicate all incidents such as:
• Injury
• Near misses
• Contaminations
• Service Failures
• Customer Complaints
• Non-Conformance / product integrity
