Position Warehouse Worker – Atlanta, GA
Job Summary ... Perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.
Position Requirements
• Must be a team player.
• Ability to read and comprehend shipping, receiving and production documents.
• Follow safety policies and procedures as well as instructions, and be a self-starter.
• Must use/wear company provided safety equipment while at work.
• Operate a forklift safely.
• Assist in unloading of trucks and checking in merchandise.
• Prepare orders for shipping, by processing customer requests which includes: pulling products and materials; packaging boxes; banding drums, shrink wrapping small packages and re-stacking bags.
• Production and filling of package goods; an aptitude to operate and trouble shoot an automated filling machine; follow direction; pull samples; hook up hoses to trucks and fill out paperwork.
• Comprehend once trained DOT requirements for filling, labeling and shipping hazardous materials.
• Assist in maintaining inventory at a proper level by pulling products as instructed and reporting low or depleted stock. May also assist in counting of physical inventory.
• May prepare parcels for mailing or shipping.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat; this may include sweeping, dusting. Help in keeping an organized warehouse and work area.
• Perform other job duties as needed or instructed.
• Must be able to work extra hours or outside your normal hours if necessary.
Physical Demands and Abilities
• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
• Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 pounds occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
Qualification Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Preferred: Forklift Certification.
• Good communication, organizational, time management.
• Must be dependable and able to report to work on time.
• Strong knowledge related to safe material practices.
• Fulfillment and warehouse procedures.
• Inventory, equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required.
Experience - 1-2 yrs. previous warehouse/manufacturing experience preferred.
