About the Role
In this position, you will provide technical support to the internal staff of Softheon, with a primary focus on managing and owning collaboration and communication tools. This includes overseeing platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Office 365, and ensuring compliance through Microsoft Purview. The IT Solutions Administrator is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing these tools to support seamless and secure organizational communication.
This job requires a patient and stable work style and consistency in dealing with repetitive routine. The job demands a cooperative, agreeable and sympathetic listener who gets along with others and enjoys being helpful to them. A customer service, team-oriented focus is of utmost importance. The job requires attention to the details of work, handling work items with better-than-average accuracy and with careful attention to the quality of the work.
You Will:
Collaboration Tools and Systems Administration
- Administer and optimize collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and other Office 365 applications.
- Provide technical assistance with the setup, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of collaboration tools and related systems.
- Collaborate with remote staff to ensure proper system access and resolve issues related to collaborative tools.
Compliance and Security
- Ensure compliance through Microsoft Purview by configuring and monitoring policies for data governance and security.
Technical Support
- Respond to technical queries via phone, email, in person, or through remote access.
- Troubleshoot and resolve end-user hardware, operating system, software and networking related problems remotely and on-site.
Training and Documentation
- Train employees on system access, collaboration tools, and compliance best practices.
- Develop and maintain documentation and training materials related to collaboration tools and compliance systems.
- Develop and maintain training manuals and documentation.
Reporting and Analysis
- Run reports to analyze common technical issues and implement solutions to address recurring problems.
Inventory Management and Miscellaneous
- Maintain System Inventories.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior IT staff.
Talent Management
- Collaborate with the Talent team to actively engage in the hiring and recruitment process, including but not limited to participating in interviews.
- Leverage industry networks and expertise to identify and attract top talent that aligns with the company's objectives and values.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members within your department and across diverse functions.
- Play an integral role in shaping and reinforcing the overall company culture, promoting values that enhance teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement.
Additional Responsibilities
- Must be available for on-call duty during peak periods, providing support outside of regular working hours as needed to ensure the timely resolution of critical issues.
- Although we work in a remote-first environment, all roles require in-person attendance at our headquarters approximately 2 times per year (in addition to other travel requirements for this specific role, if applicable). These visits are essential for team collaboration, strategic planning, and fostering deeper connections across the organization. Travel arrangements will be supported to ensure a seamless experience.
- This role will be a fully onsite position. This person will be required to work from 1500 Stony Brook Rd, Stony Brook, NY 11794 from 9-6 pm ET.
- All candidates must be located within 50 miles of 1500 Stony Brook Rd, Stony Brook, NY 11794. Relocation is not supported for this role
- Local travel on an as-needed basis (e.g., shipping and pickup tasks).
You Have
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Technological Systems Management, Computer Science, or a related field required,or currently enrolled and actively working toward completion of such a degree.
Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Former Experience Managing Users and Workstations Within Active Directory.
- Experience or familiarity with:
- Microsoft Window Operating Systems
- Workstation Hardware Troubleshooting Techniques and Software Utilities
- Workstation Software Troubleshooting Techniques and Resolution
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Helpdesk Ticketing Software
- Mobile device management is a plus
Certifications Required (or to be obtained within 90 days of starting employment)
- AZ900 must be obtained with 90 days if not already certified
Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Office 365.
- Technical expertise in identifying, diagnosing, and evaluating end-user computer and account issues, and developing effective mitigation and repair methods.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong etiquette for internal digital communications (Email/Ticketing)
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while managing simultaneous projects

What We Offer
Softheon offers every full-time employee a comprehensive compensation and benefits package including:
- For this position we offer a base pay of $50,000 - $60,000, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation, and benefits. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as candidate location, qualifications, skill level, and competencies.
