In this Assistant Controller role, you will utilize your problem-solving skills by taking the initiative to identify and resolve problems. The Assistant Controller position consists of regulating the day-to-day of the accounting staff and providing updates to the Controller.
How You Will Impact Schoox
- Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections
- Contract Review
- Review semi-monthly payroll runs
- Calculate sales commission payments
- Monthly close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
- Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
- Advanced preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
- Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
- Distinguish and evolve process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Ability and willingness to meet business-critical deadlines
- Foundational knowledge in financial reporting
- Proficient with QuickBooks
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly organized and flexible
- BA/BS in Accounting preferred
- Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
- CPA preferred
- SAAS experience preferred
