- Compliance & Policy: Maintain and evolve employee handbooks and HR policies to ensure strict compliance with federal and state/provincial laws (predominantly in the US).
- Onboarding & Lifecycle: Own the end-to-end onboarding process for new starters in the Chicago office and remote regions, ensuring a welcoming and professional "Mixam" introduction.
- HRIS Management: Act as the super-user for our HRIS (Rippling), ensuring 100% data integrity, accurate record-keeping, and efficient self-service workflows.
- Payroll & Benefits Support: Support with and partner with finance and external providers to support bi-weekly payroll inputs and manage US benefits administration.
- International Coordination: Liaise with our Employer of Record (EOR) partners for international regions (Europe/Philippines) to ensure global alignment.
- Culture & Communication: Act as a "people person" in the Chicago office, fostering strong relationships with our Customer Service, Care, and Supply Chain teams to drive engagement.
Qualifications and Experience required:
- HR Experience: Proven experience in an HR Advisor or Generalist role, ideally within a tech, eCommerce, or high-growth startup environment.

- Technical Skills: Proficient with HRIS platforms (experience with Rippling is a major plus) and standard office suites (Google Workspace/Microsoft Excel).
- Certifications: Professional HR certification: SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR/ UK equivalent CIPD Level 5 or above.
- Communication: Impeccable verbal and written communication skills with the ability to navigate cross-cultural nuances effectively.
- Adaptability: Comfortable being a "team of one" locally while collaborating globally; ability to shift priorities quickly in a scaling business.
- People First: A genuine passion for supporting employees and managers with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach.
Salary range: $65k - $85k Depending on certifications and experience.
