Wandel Press Co. Inc. is seeking an energetic and motivated Reporter to join our growing media team. This position will focus on covering news, events, and stories related to what's happening in the communities in America . The ideal candidate has a strong sense of curiosity, excellent storytelling skills, and a passion for connecting local and international audiences through impactful journalism.
The Reporter will research, pitch, and produce original stories that highlight African communities, leaders, culture, policy, business, and events shaping the USA area and beyond. You will conduct interviews, attend events and briefings, and deliver high-quality written and on-camera reports for broadcast and digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate compelling story ideas and deliver timely, well-researched coverage.
- Conduct in-depth interviews with newsmakers, community members, and subject experts.
- Write, edit, and file stories for TV, digital, and social media platforms.
- Collaborate closely with producers, editors, and camera teams in the field and studio.
- Maintain strong relationships within Americans and diaspora communities across the .
- Uphold the highest journalistic standards of accuracy, fairness, and balance.
Qualifications:
- Some experience in reporting experience in broadcast, digital, or print media.
- Strong writing, interviewing, and storytelling skills.
- Comfort and professionalism on camera.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends, as news demands.
Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
