The Role
We are hiring a Head of Production, Development & Procurement to own end-to-end product development, sourcing, and production execution. This role is accountable for taking products from development through finished goods delivery—on time, at target cost, and at required quality—while actively managing financial risk, inventory liability, and cash exposure.
This is a remote-hybrid role. Candidates must be based in New York or tri-state area to support in-person collaboration, fittings, and cross-functional work as needed.
This is a senior, hands-on role requiring deep technical knowledge, strong supplier negotiation, and disciplined operational execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment & Technical Leadership
· Build and manage development timelines in partnership with Corporate Strategy
· Partner with factories on fabric, trim, construction, and style direction
· Ensure proposed materials meet MOQ, MCQ, and lead-time requirements
· Review and align fabrications, style details, and color direction with the CEO
· Maintain and enforce fabric, trim, and finished goods testing protocols
· Negotiate development and bulk pricing; identify solutions to improve margins
· Approve lab dips and trim quality prior to bulk production
· Oversee wear testing, collect data, and drive final adoption decisions
· Ensure accuracy and timeliness of fit comments, tech packs, and documentation
· Resolve technical and development issues as they arise
Production & Procurement Execution
· Build, manage, and adjust monthly production calendars including order triggers and EXF dates
· Own fabric and component balance sheets, liabilities, and use-by dates
· Proactively reduce or deplete liability before payment is due
· Lead monthly pre- and post-sign-off meetings with Planning
· Align on greige and dyed commitments, utilization plans, and buy feasibility
· Communicate upcharges and margin or cash implications for approval
· Solve production issues and demand changes, including pull-ins, delays, and ship mode changes
· Negotiate with suppliers on prioritization or alternate solutions to meet delivery needs
· Communicate delivery risks early and partner cross-functionally on solutions
· Partner weekly with Accounts Payable on payment review
· Work with Fulfillment to resolve shipment discrepancies and mislabeling
Systems, Administration & Financial Control
· Issue and communicate purchase orders to factories
· Track work-in-progress against key milestones
· Maintain accurate system records for EXF, payment terms, and status
· Review shipping documents to avoid excess tariff or duty exposure
· Perform three-way invoice matching prior to payment
· Plan and book inline and final inspections; onboard new partners as needed
· Ensure production-related invoices are processed accurately and on time
· Plan and execute fabric and trim testing prior to adoption
· Own monthly COGS reconciliation in partnership with Finance
· Manage factory chargebacks and open-order adjustments
· Ensure financial approval for all additional or unplanned spend
