Responsibilities
- Technology evaluation and implementation: Evaluation and implementation of new technologies, including exploring AI for tasks like claim denial reduction, insurance verification, authorization capture.
- Process improvement and standardization: Develop and execute plans for process improvement, standardization, and automation across the revenue cycle to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- System and data management: Manage and improve revenue cycle information systems, including patient registration, charge capture, and accounts receivable management.
- Performance monitoring: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), such as Days in AR and denial rates, to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Reporting and analysis: Analyze data to develop insights and present clear, actionable findings to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with stakeholders across operational and financial departments to align on technology solutions and support optimization efforts.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
Additional Preferences
- Leadership and management: Strong leadership and team-building skills to mentor staff, manage projects, and motivate teams.
- Technical expertise: Thorough knowledge of healthcare information technology, revenue cycle software (like Epic/Athena), and an understanding of computational tools applied to healthcare.
- Analytical skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Communication skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills to work with various levels of staff and management.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations: Understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance, and payer policies (e.g., HIPAA) is crucial for ensuring accuracy and compliance.
