POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the Call Center Specialist is responsible for providing excellent customer service, registering new patients, appointment scheduling and insurance verification. Typical duties include answering multi-line incoming customer calls. Completing registration, scheduling appointments and securing authorization and a physician’s order for scheduled services. Responsibilities emphasize on quality Customer Service. Completes registration for new patients in a timely and accurate manner and adheres to the established registration and scheduling protocols and standards. Ensures that patients have secured authorization, physician order, and referrals when scheduling appointments. Interviews patients via telephone to obtain demographic and financial information necessary to secure patient account information. Verifies insurance eligibility for outpatient services on all Third Party Payers by utilizing various automated eligibility systems. Operates Affinity system to gain and input registration information. In addition, responsible for relaying medical messages to patient/clinic staff clearly and effectively through EClinical Works. Operates Experian Passport system including order manager, scheduling manager, and medical necessity modules. Indexes physician orders in accordance with Experian Order Management procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Medical Terminology (Preferred)
- On the job or equivalent training in admitting or call center procedures
- Ability to handle multi-line incoming customer calls, schedule appointments, and perform registration
Position Pay Range: $18.63 - $27.45 per hour
in compliance with the California Pay Transparency Act, El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC) posts the pay range for all jobs. Please note that actual pay will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please also note this range is applicable for employees who reside in California only. A geographical pay differential may be applied for remote employees who reside out of state.
