Saalex is seeking an Engineering Technician IV-Radar Systems in Point Mugu, CA. Saalex is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services.

Work Location: Onsite. Frequent travel to remote Company work locations may be required.
Essential Functions:
This position requires a solid understanding of radar tracking, surveillance, and Doppler radar operations. The incumbent is responsible for understanding and utilizing radar system modes along with advanced signal- and data-processing techniques to support accurate target detection, tracking, and system performance. Duties include conducting analytical assessments, applying radar processing methods, and performing testing and verification using both simulated and live radar data to ensure reliable and effective operational capability. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provides support operating and maintaining instrumented radars during the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems.
- Is able to work from heights occasionally.
- Dismantling mounting and replacing of equipment for troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Able to be cleared to handle COMSEC.
- Able to communicate between test centers over local radio and in technical meetings and range briefs.
- Basic understanding of power and hand tools.
- Installs, monitors, and services equipment and systems at the company and client sites.
- Performs test and evaluation, check-out, and certification tasks; performs validations/verifications of various electronic systems.
- Reviews Engineering Change Proposals for equipment impacts.
- Assists in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions.
- Develops technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical drawing updates, operating procedures, maintainability improvements, and test reports.
- Supports systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise.
- Assists in training others in the operation and performance of systems.
- Plans and coordinates work of other engineering technicians and related positions.
- Establishes and maintains filing systems, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory.
- Assists work unit personnel as the on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed.
- Provides technical data and evaluation for components, equipment, and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout, and contract requirements.
- Supports engineers in the development of technical proposal and provides comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
- Uses established policies and procedures and subject matter knowledge to complete assignments of moderate complexity that vary in nature and sequence.

Working conditions:
Most positions involve work typical of office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. Frequent travel to remote Company work locations may be required.
Education/Experience:
Required:
- Required: Each employee must read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to their job.
- The incumbent must have vocational/technical training beyond high school from an academic institution or military equivalent training and at least 5 years of job-related experience.
- The incumbent must possess good communication and analytical skills and working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
- The incumbent must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines.
- Incumbent must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance and must have a valid, current state driver’s license.
Desired:
- Class A license preferred.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VLAN configurations.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and data flow diagnostics between radar sensors, control systems, and data centers.
- Ability to troubleshoot Windows and Linux-based systems supporting radar operations.
- Working knowledge of oscilloscope, multi meter, spectrum analyzer and power meter.
Security Clearance:
Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc. Incumbent must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance and must have a valid, current state driver’s license.
