The Publicist serves as the primary voice of Pacific Health Group to the public—crafting, distributing, and managing all external communications, media relationships, and brand messaging. This role is pivotal in increasing public awareness of our mission, shaping our reputation, and ensuring that our programs, services, and successes are well represented in the media. The Publicist will oversee press releases, manage media inquiries, develop storytelling content, coordinate interviews, and foster strong relationships with journalists, influencers, and community leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Intervention
- Deliver direct and telehealth therapy services to clients via phone, video, and in-person.
- Provide crisis intervention and short- and long-term psychotherapy.
- Conduct mental health evaluations and formulate treatment plans.
- Offer referrals and case management services.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate clinical records in compliance with HIPAA.
- Ensure all documentation is completed within established deadlines.
- Adhere to mandated reporting protocols.
Collaboration & Communication
- Engage with case management, administrative, and leadership teams to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain professional, timely communication via email, phone, and instant messaging.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and interdisciplinary planning.
Work Ethic & Professionalism
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and responsiveness.
- Uphold a high standard of customer service and empathy.
Additional Responsibilities
- Establish positive, trusting rapport with patients.
- Participate in intake interviews and assessments to obtain family, psychosocial, employment, medical, and mental health treatment history.
- Provide ongoing clinical assessment, treatment planning, and clinical treatment for patients and families.
- Complete administrative requirements, including timely documentation and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in clinical supervision and maintain supervision log.
- Willingness to provide mental health services via telehealth (phone/video) while following mandated reporter protocols.
Example Scenarios
Conducting a comprehensive intake for a client with multiple mental health concerns, developing a tailored treatment plan, and coordinating with case management to ensure holistic care. Providing crisis intervention to a client experiencing acute stress, implementing immediate support strategies, and documenting the intervention according to HIPAA compliance. Coordinating with interdisciplinary teams for a client transitioning from inpatient to outpatient care to ensure continuity of care and accurate follow-up.

- Master’s degree in Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Counseling from an accredited institution.
- Current California license as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC).
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with mental health clients; case management experience preferred.
- English fluency required; bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Gmail.
- Compassionate, empathetic approach with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
