The Opportunity
- Review and analyze inpatient medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM and PCS codes.
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, payer requirements, and hospital standards.
- Work with clinical staff or coding auditors when clarification is needed.
- Code high-acuity cases, including trauma, surgical, and complex inpatient encounters.
- Meet productivity and accuracy standards set by the company
Weekly Schedule:5 days a week on flex schedule. May have to work a weekend day here and there – Ideally, are able to work 2 weekends a month.
Work Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Experience Required for Your Success
Remote position: schedule requires alignment with CST/EST time zones.
- Experience: Min. of 3 years of inpatient coding directly under a hospital (not contract / outpatient coders).
- Trauma Exposure: Must have direct and hands on experience coding Level 1 Trauma cases (Level 1 Trauma facilities)
- Specialization: Strictly inpatient coding (no ER/outpatient-only experience).
- EMR System: Epic
- Certification: RHIA, CCS, or RHIT (at least one required).
