We are looking for a skilled and motivated Purchasing Associate to join our team. The Purchasing Associate is responsible for purchasing and inventory management activities. This individual will work closely with both the Sales, Operations and IT teams to align purchasing efforts with strategic objectives and maintain vendor relationships. This role will monitor inventory levels, place purchase orders, and update vendor records. It will also be responsible for monitoring the receipt of sample allowances and rebates from vendors as well as working to correct any discrepancies between purchase orders, receiving documents and invoices. This position will work closely with remote offices to ensure they are maintaining adequate inventory levels by updating reorder points and order quantities for items stocked at those locations.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Monitors inventory levels, product turn rate, and overall inventory value.
- Place purchase orders with vendors as needed working with Operations Manager to determine delivery location
- Main point of contact with vendors for managing any discrepancies between ordered and received quantities as well as purchase price and invoice price
- Responsible for calculating and submitting vendor rebate and sample allowance requests and monitoring the receipt of credit memos from vendors
- Work closely with remote offices to assist with their purchasing needs including review and update of reorder points and order quantities to ensure adequate stock of items is available
- Communicates vendor and product information details/changes to relevant staff members
- Other duties as assigned
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.) or similar
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal departments and external vendors
- Strong data entry and record keeping skills
- Problem solving ability, especially in resolving supply issues or discrepancies
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Commitment to ethical purchasing practices and maintaining vendor relationships
Preferred
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or related field
- Prior experience in a purchasing role
- Prior experience with NetSuite ERP
- Ability to negotiate with vendors and suppliers
- Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain principles
- Independence and proactivity skills including reaching out to stakeholders, understanding their processes, and achieving desired outcomes
- Strong ability working with digital analytics data to inform decision making
