Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Appraisal Support Specialist to join our mortgage operations team. This role involves managing a high-volume shared inbox, coordinating appraisal orders, processing fee changes, and ensuring timely payments to appraisers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in appraisal processes, be proficient in Excel, and excel at multitasking and maintaining an organized workflow in a fast-paced mortgage environment.
Responsibilities:
· Manage a high-traffic shared inbox, responding to inquiries and ensuring follow-up on appraisal-related communications in a timely manner.
· Oversee the processing and tracking of appraisal orders, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is maintained throughout the lifecycle of escalated orders.
· Process appraisal fee changes and initiate redisclosures as necessary, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and company standards.
· Handle VA appraisal orders, ensuring accurate processing and timely payment to appraisers in accordance with VA guidelines.
· Utilize Excel to manage appraisal data, track performance metrics, and generate reports on appraisal activity.
· Ensure all appraisal-related documentation is complete, accurate, and stored in an organized manner for easy retrieval on transferred appraisals.
· Collaborate with internal teams (underwriting, closing, and operations) to resolve issues related to appraisals and ensure a seamless mortgage process for clients.
· Prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple, time-sensitive loans in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in the mortgage industry, preferably in an administrative, processing, or appraisal administrative role.
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data entry, reporting, and analysis.
· Familiarity with appraisal processes, including managing orders and understanding fee structures.
· Knowledge of VA appraisal requirements and guidelines is highly desirable.
· Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage high volumes of work while maintaining attention to detail.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal teams, appraisers, and clients.
· Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Knowledge of mortgage industry regulations and compliance and appraisal-related guidelines is a plus.
Pay Disclosure:
The starting base pay range for this position is $20.00/hr. The actual base is dependent on many factors such as: work experience, business needs, market demands, and other compensation components. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
