Description
The Remote Solutions ROI Administrator’s primary responsibility is processing Release of Information (ROI) requests for clients, remotely. This individual retrieves electronic documents from client databases, logging pertinent information as well as transferring electronic document images into the ROI-log proprietary database.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use electronic data system to process information.
- Ensure timely completion of client requests to prevent backlog.
- Communicate with team members and client representatives as needed to resolve issues.
- Make decisions about what specific record components to release/make available.
- Review and apply HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance with privacy statutes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Validates requests and authorizations for release of medical information according to established procedures and HIPAA guidelines.
- Determines records to be released by reviewing requestor information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and obtaining pertinent patient data from various sources, including electronic, off-site, or physical records that match patient request.
- Completes release of information requests with complete accuracy and quality checks to including retrieving patient’s medical charts, pulling medical records accurately and correctly (according to requests), established procedures, and established standards of quality and productivity; and electronically transmits medical record to processing operations.
- Maintains working knowledge of the current state laws and HIPAA regulations as well as facility policies and procedures in regard to release of information.
- Works within scope of position and direction; willingly accepts assignments and is available to take on additional tasks, facilities or assist with ROI backlogs and other ROI functions as needed.
- Must properly record hours utilizing proper class codes and activity codes in MRO’s electronic time keeping system daily.
- Must be available during scheduled hours, dedicated to MRO work alignment in a distraction free and uninterrupted environment.
- Must adhere to productivity standards for each client’s work as assigned meeting minimum requirements.
- The hours of work for this position will vary depending on volumes, including less than, and more than 40 hours of work each week. Employees will be able to utilize available paid time off programs to be paid or will be unpaid for hours worked under 40 in a week.
SKILLS|EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficient computer skills. Accurate data entry skills.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in high volume production environments.
- Experience retrieving information from computer database is helpful.
- Dependable, good organizational skills, good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Positive teamwork-oriented attitude.
