We are looking for a full-time Medical Lead Billing Specialist to join our customer-focused, supportive billing team.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
Fully remote
THE POSITION:
The Billing Specialist Lead provides assistance in leading the billing team in order to successfully help consolidate invoice activity, collect payment in a timely fashion from payers, and coordinate activities of team members, in addition to completing the duties of Billing Specialist.
Provides first class service to all customers and businesses and support to other departments.
Assists leadership in developing, maintaining and monitoring work schedules of department that lead to peak productivity and efficiency
Participates in committees, meetings and training sessions as designated.
Provides first point of contact for billers to assist, train and troubleshoot procedural related matters.
Provides first level of support for escalated customer service issues inbilling. Reports escalated issues and notifies leadership for issues requiring further escalation.
Provides backup support for department and billing leadership.
Assists in department compliance to established policies and procedures.
Performs quality assurance reviews and develops corrective action for approval.
Maintains current and accurate work instructions for policies and procedures.
Ensures invoicing is completed accurately and on time.
Coordinate A/R operations for timely and maximum reimbursement and ensures A/R policy compliance.
Completes responsibilities of Billing Specialist including managing and processing insurance claims, statements, payments and communication with all parties involved.
REQUIREMENTS:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and demonstrated initiative
Ability to problem solve and work independently
Technical skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel
Previous medical billing experience preferred
Bright tree experience preferred
Knowledge of medical coding is a plus.
