Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Completes background checks and employee eligibility verifications
- Implements all tasks associated with new hire onboarding and orientation
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments
- Performs tasks to administer and execute HR programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity; recognition; morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, separations, and investigations
- Handles employment related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job candidates for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for positions
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and procedures to ensure compliance
- Stays abreast of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR as well as talent management and employment law
- Performs other duties related to HR functions as assigned by the VP of People and Culture

Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- Minimum of three years of related experience
- Experience in a healthcare setting strongly preferred
- SHRM or PHR certified strongly preferred
Work Environment
The HR Generalist role is 60% remote and 40% in-office.

The HR Generalist must be able to operate standard office equipment and keyboards and talk and hear.
While performing the duties of the job, the HR Generalist is frequently required sit for long periods of time; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel, grab, handle, and type; and arms to reach and lift. The employee may occasionally lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
Travel
The HR Generalist will occasionally travel for in-person meetings, conferences, or training. They will also be expected to travel on occasion to other UNIFI Autism Care therapy centers for new hire orientation. Travel time will be paid for by UNIFI. Mileage can be expensed.
