Mission of Role/Position Summary:
The Quality Control Technician is a field position that is primarily responsible for assisting in verifying compliance with quality requirements on construction and environmental projects as defined by Company standards and contractual obligations.
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

- Actively promote and support the quality control program with subcontractors and project team members on a daily basis.
- Assist in ensuring that work is performed in accordance with contract specifications, pertinent building codes & practices as well as national and local standards.
- Witness required testing.
- Assist in inspecting and documenting the receipt of all materials to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Complete daily quality related documentation (field reports, logs, and records), in a timely and accurate manner.
- Verify implementation of corrective action, track and analyze corrective action, and close-out corrective action documentation upon acceptable completion.
- In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- The ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact
- An aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoning
- Knowledge in accurately reading and comprehending construction plans and related technical documents
- Skilled in analyzing and summarizing data for reporting to management
- Working knowledge of building codes and phases of construction
- Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May have lead responsibilities within projects or small teams depending on function with senior level support.
Expected Hours of Work:
Schedule may vary. Work on evenings and weekends may be required. Dependability and punctuality are paramount.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 50% travel is expected for this position.
- Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time.
Physical Demands:
- Mobility required on-site with clients.
- Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.
Working Environment:
- Emergency management personnel may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings.
- All AC Disaster Consulting (ACDC) positions are remote work site positions with the home location agreed upon at time of hire.
- If the remote work site locations change, ACDC Human Resources must be made aware, and leadership needs to approve any site changes for business registration and payroll tax purposes.
Experience/Education Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a current Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractor’s certificate or the ability to obtain one within 60 days.
- Internship experience directly related to construction or quality control.
Experience/Education Preferred:
- Familiarity with proper setup of quality control testing equipment.
- Broad understanding of contract compliance in government construction or environmental projects.
- Familiarity with workplace health and safety concepts.
- Prior experience with Federal Government DoD construction projects.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsored visa is required. We are not able to employ those located outside of the US.
- Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
