We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in verifying patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility to ensure accurate billing and minimize claim denials. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of insurance processes within the healthcare industry.
This is a full-time, remote position.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits using online portals and phone inquiries, including for clinics with an ambulatory surgical center.
- Collect and accurately enter insurance information into the system.
- Assist clinic staff with patient insurance coverage and benefits inquiries.
- Calculate patient financial responsibility based on insurance coverage and communicate with patients via SMS.
- Communicate with insurance companies to obtain necessary verification details.
- Maintain organized records of insurance verifications and follow up as needed.
- Stay informed about insurance policies and procedures to enhance support for patients and staff.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, assisting with their development and knowledge of insurance processes.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and evolving insurance policies to enhance service quality and compliance.

Position Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an insurance verification role.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; or relevant certification preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
- Familiarity with obtaining benefits for ambulatory surgical centers.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with healthcare management software is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
