Job Title: Accounting Associate
Location: Remote/Anywhere within the US
Report To: CEO
Working Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm EST
Compensation: $19.58/hr
This is a temporary full-time three (3) month assignment with the potential to be extended.
What you will do:
Job responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Overseeing the daily activities of the accounting department, including cash management, posting and reconciliation of customer payments, managing the whole AP cycle on Bill.com as well as processing expense reimbursements and managing credit card transactions on the expense management software Divvy.
- Perform monthly closing activities, including analysis of accounts, preparation of journal entries, maintaining depreciation and amortization schedules, accruals as well as payroll and health care benefits reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports (Financial statements, aging report) and supporting analytics for management and ensure the financial records are maintained in compliance with US GAAP and with internal policies and procedures;
- Provide management with financial data and forecasting vital to the decision-making process;
- Working directly with external CPA firm for the annual financial statement audit;
- Evaluating, developing, and improving department controls, systems, and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Developing staff by managing performance, setting goals and providing ongoing training.
- Assist with CEO for new companies’ registration and annual reports filings.
- Support in special projects as requested.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required
- Thorough understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including strong Word, Outlook, and Excel skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Previous experience with QuickBooks and Bill.com is a huge plus.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under strict deadlines with speed and accuracy. Ability to prioritize and plan work to meet time-based deliverables
