Job description:
We are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our team, providing phone and email support to customers with bookkeeping-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of basic accounting principles, and a passion for delivering top-notch customer service.
As the first point of contact for our customers, you will handle incoming calls and emails, assisting clients with questions about invoices, payments, account reconciliations, and general bookkeeping processes. This role requires someone who is patient, detail-oriented, and comfortable spending most of their workday on the phone or responding to emails.
Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming customer calls regarding accounting and bookkeeping inquiries in a friendly, professional manner
- Respond to customer emails promptly and accurately
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues related to general bookkeeping questions
- Log customer interactions and resolutions in the company’s CRM system
- Provide follow-up support to ensure customer issues are fully resolved
- Collaborate with internal accounting teams when additional information is needed
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and empathy in all customer interactions
Requirements:
- Previous experience in customer service, preferably in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial services
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (such as invoicing, reconciliations, and payment processes)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle high call volumes and respond to emails efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a quiet home environment free from background noise (no barking dogs, loud appliances, or other distractions)
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) is a plus
- Reliable high speed internet connection and a dedicated workspace
