About the Veterinary Technician - Emergency Overnight Role
We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of a Veterinary Nurse (Veterinary Technician) with at least two years of experience in emergency veterinary medicine to work in our Emergency Department.
Schedule & Compensation
Schedule: 8 pm - 8 am Thursday-Saturday
Compensation: From $27.50/hr *this includes shift differential
What You’ll Do
- Triage – identify emergencies and illnesses
- Perform various treatments on an in-house and outpatient basis
- Anesthesia: Induction, monitoring, troubleshooting, recover patients
- Administer medications
- Assist in procedures
- Position and capture of radiographs
- Communicate with clients, and team members (verbally and written)
- Fear Free handling: safe, stress free interactions for team members, clients, and patients
- Two or more years of experience in emergency veterinary medicine
- Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent.
- Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
- Attention to detail and a calm demeanor
- Ability to work in a fast paced, environment
- Proficient computer skills
