The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.

RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing Required
BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Required
ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Core Requirement
ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Required prior to completion of orientation to the assigned area
Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test - Must Pass at time of hire (Required if hired after 11/15/2018) Required
Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test - Internal Candidates Must Pass Prior to Applying for Position (must be proctored in Human Resources) - Required
NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale - No Issuing Agency Certification
Skills:
Core:
Demonstrates competency in caring for pre-and post- cardio-thoracic surgery, esophageal surgery, and cardiovascular interventional procedural patients.
Able to provide competent care for patients requiring cardioversion, thoracentesis, temporary pacing, and moderate sedation.
Demonstrates competency in the management of IV medicated drips requiring minimal titration, including select vasoactive and antiarrhythmic agents
Demonstrates competency in the management of stable DKA patients .

Pay Range:
$77.04 - $104.97 Hourly Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word 'exempt' on it.
