The Medical Surgical Nurse Supervisor will join an outstanding medical center and play an important role in supporting the clinical and administrative mission of the health system. This 150- bed medical center has earned a reputation for outstanding patient care and employee engagement. This medical center is well known for its commitment to advancing community health and working hard to serve the people of the East Bay Area, offers a full range of high-acuity and complex services, as well as a diverse outpatient clinical network.
Among this hospital’s most prestigiously awarded services are its Post-Surgical and Medical Services, both areas that the Medical Surgical Nurse Supervisor can have direct impacts. This person will lead clinical patient care across two departments with about 30 beds. Leading a strong team of both tenured and growing Med Surg RNs, including CMSRN Staff Nurses, this person will continue to build on a culture of accountability, shared responsibility, and excellence.

This is a full-time, salaried role, offering a stable 3x12 schedule.
Reporting to the Med/Surg Department Nursing Manager, the Nurse Supervisor will have an integral role in the operations of this busy unit. Supporting the Supervisor are three CMSRN Charge Nurses, along with approximately 35 RNs across two units. Working closely with the unit-based Inpatient Educators and Clinical Practice Specialists, you’ll find tons of support when engaging employees and building clinical competencies.
The Nurse Supervisor of Medical Surgical will get to take a pivotal role in the clinical and administrative success of this unit. You’ll work with educators and inpatient leaders to help develop and codify standards and practices that keep this Magnet-journey nursing program at the forefront of the medical field.
The Med/Surg Nurse Supervisor will also get to serve as hospital-wide leader through optional participation in committees for employee experience, patient satisfaction, and quality improvement. Working in collaboration with leaders in finance and operations, the Supervisor will also get to make significant impacts on improving the operational efficiencies of this unit while learning how to be a stronger Manager and better leader.
