The RN Case Manager Team Leader interprets hospital policies and coordinates with the Director to ensure coverage through effective staffing and support for the case management team. This role involves managing staffing levels, addressing complex issues, and providing guidance to new team members. The ideal candidate holds a current RN license in Maryland and has at least two years of case management experience.
Job Description
- Interprets hospital and department policies and procedures, standards, requirements and regulations of accrediting and regulatory agencies. Assists in the update of quality management practices, policies and procedures as needed to remain in compliance.
- Works with Director to ensure service line coverage through appropriate assignment of case managers to subservice and volume.
- Manages staffing for individual team to ensure adequate coverage of service line. This includes planned and unplanned time off cross coverage.
- Works with Director and other team leaders to coordinate approval of time off requests for multiple members of the same team.
- Works with individual team members to problem solve complex issues and to support new team members in the case management role.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited School of Nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
- Two years experience in case management with demonstrated proficiency of all related skills and knowledge base, including electronic programs, regulatory requirements, payor requirements, related risk management issues, discharge information
