The Registered Nurse on the Behavioral Response Team is responsible for providing care to patients with behavioral health needs across various settings, including inpatient units and outpatient clinics. This role involves coordinating care plans, responding to behavioral health crises, and educating staff on appropriate patient care techniques. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:- Supporting the care of patients with behavioral health needs on inpatient medical units, emergency department, and both on- and off-campus ambulatory clinics.
- Coordinating with patients and their families to develop effective care plans.
- Responding to and deescalating acute behavioral health crisis.
- Education to staff on caring for patients with behavioral health needs.
- This position will rotate between 300 Longwood Ave (main hospital) and 2 Brookline Place (outpatient clinics).
- In the main hospital, this position will rotate between different roles on the team including (1) providing proactive behavioral health care, (2) responding to and managing acute behavioral events, and (3) staffing a subset of rooms on medical units where patients are awaiting psychiatric placement.
- 24 hours weekly rotating days/nights and every third weekends.
To qualify, you must have:- A BSN.
- Minimum 1 years of psychiatric nursing experience and 1 year working with children with behavioral health needs.
