Job Description:
The Shared Business Services Center (SBSC) is seeking a Travel Team Manager! This position serves a leadership role on our team of highly motivated, customer-service driven individuals. The SBSC Travel Team Manager is responsible for supervising, training and mentoring a continuously growing team of specialists. Our office works remotely approximately four days per week, while reporting to campus at least one day per week. We utilize several tools that allow us to communicate effectively and efficiently.
Qualified candidates should have a strong understanding of educational institutions and/or travel processes or have experience working in an organization with similar functions/processes. Having experience with Concur, PeopleSoft, federal, state and institutional policies are a plus!
Essential Duties:
Responsible for the development, training, and supervision of SBSC travel specialists
Monitors the daily activity of each specialist and any outstanding requests, to ensure expedited service
Assists with keeping SBSC policies and procedures, training materials, and onboarding documents up to date
Ensures team is following updated policies and procedures
Monitors workload and communication between the SBSC team and campus and external customers to ensure excellent customer service
Provides assistance, resources, and troubleshoots issues that the specialists are unable to complete or resolve themselves
Runs various reports to ensure transactions are followed through in a timely manner. Escalates issue when necessary
Ensures departments supported by SBSC' receive excellent travel-related support. These duties include but are not limited to guest booking services, support for faculty and staff Concur expense reports, processing AP payments as needed for travel related expenses, etc.
Ensures deadlines are met, while also being willing to jump in and help the whole team
Directly supervises a productive team, ensuring they are trained and equipped to process a wide range of travel requests, with a high standard for effective communication
Troubleshoots payroll issues in timely, courteous and effective manner
Serves as the liaison to our departments, colleges, and central offices
Manages workloads, distributes daily requests that come in, as well as covers workloads while staff are out of office or there are vacancies
Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.
Skills:
Must be able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively
Working knowledge of financial or accounting to include analysis, auditing, and budgeting
Ability to understand a chart of accounts and code entries to proper account
Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
Highly organized and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
Ability to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
