We are a small CAH hospital so our acute nurses actually cover ER and outpatient therapies as well as acute inpatient. We have a senior living unit attached and there may occasionally be a need to float next door. however, I have not had to float any nurses since I've started and I do believe it is a very rare occurrence but the possibility is there.
Cerner EMR and Omnicel for meds.
There will usually be another RN on shift, but there may be a night where it s traveler with a CNA or LPN, but the is always an RN on call too.
