Summit Medical Staffing Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Fremont, Nebraska.

# L&D Beds: 6 Beds
- # OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: 1 OR suite on unit - OR RN circulates
- # Triage beds: 2 Beds, Also respond to ER as well
- # Postpartum beds: 10 Beds
- # Births per day Month Year: 27 births a month, 297 births a year
- Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios: Yes - Ratios are typically less than guidelines
- Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS): BLS, NRP - PALS is preferred but not required.
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: This is a smaller facility, and you must be comfortable caring for patients without
- OB or OR in house. Nurses are not required to circulate or scrub. 2 OB nurses attend all c-sections to catch and care for
baby. Must be comfortable with NRP. However, it does occasionally happen that the mother comes in progressing
before the MD arrives. You must be confident and comfortable caring for the patient until the MD arrives. It would
expected that you help setup the OR while waiting for the OR team. OR nurse circulates and OR CST available. They care
for low risk 34 weeks and greater, no prenatal care, substance abuse mothers, pre-eclampsia, diabetic mothers and
mothers with multiple co-morbidities, must be able to read strips, common drips mag, pit, No insulin drips. Nursery and
postpartum. They do not have CNA s, but ratios are low on the unit. Nurses are required to do some restocking. They
have a separate area they care for hysters and peds along with other basic surgical patients. Sister campus Methodist
Women's is 20 minutes away.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have experience in similar size facility, Must have nursery experience, Must be
comfortable with No OB and OR in house, with a 30 minute response time.

- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: mag, pit
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Does the charge nurse take an assignment: Lead may take a patient load- House
Supervisor
- Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit: During the day they have a secretary/resource available
- OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7: 30 min response time
- RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Heated high flow, 1 vent typically stabilized and transport to women's or
children's - 20 min transfer.
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit Are RNs required to read their own strips What brand are the tele monitors:
Philips, Panda, Android phones
- EFM System: Fetal Link
- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling Block scheduling): Set scheduling, they do try to work with block
scheduling. Perm staff is really amazing with flexing - Will take weekenders.
- Weekend Requirements: Every 3rd
- Holiday Requirements: Rotate with perm staff
- Is there a call or standby requirement: low census per traveler contract, can volunteer
- Floating Requirements: You can float to the medsurg side to care for peds or re-admission bil babies. If you have
Medsurg experience they will cross train to medsurg - Bonus but not required.
