POSITION SUMMARY:
As Intercept continues to build its position as the leader in rare and serious liver disease, we are seeking an Associate Director, Data Strategy & Governance. The candidate we hire into this role will be responsible for the strategy and governance of all commercial data assets, the management of Intercept’s commercial data environment as well as our internal reporting platform.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborate closely with a broad spectrum of internal stakeholders (Commercial Analytics, Marketing, Market Insights, Forecasting, Market Access, Commercial IT, Compliance) to develop and execute a Commercial data strategy compliantly
• Ensure incorporation of data strategy into performance reporting to the organization
• Create and maintain data standards, processes, and business rules documentation for how the organization will collect and manage data
• Create and maintain knowledge hub capturing data inventory, processes, and business rules
• Collaborate with Commercial IT data analyst in managing data warehouse ingestion and integration, and daily operations and processes to ensure data quality, consistency, timeliness, and availability
• Work with IT to ensure data security and execute data investigations
• Working with IT, serve as the business owner for data integration into Intercept’s cloud-based reporting platform (Tableau Online and Veeva MyInsights) and continue to evolve our reporting/dashboarding capabilities
• Manage relationships with current and prospective data, technology, and managed services vendors; keep abreast of new data offerings and vendors
• Continuously assess data strategy and governance to ensure it supports business objectives, while driving operational efficiency and process improvement
• Develop and manage annual Data Strategy & Governance budget
• Understand the legal and compliance environment and drive collaboration with the Legal and Compliance team

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company or relevant experience in biotech/pharma-focused consulting
• Experience managing a commercial data warehouse
• Experience managing Tableau Server and creating Tableau content
• Hands-on experience working with patient-level data as well as syndicated data offerings
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
• Ability to work onsite in our Morristown, NJ, office on a hybrid basis
• Ability to travel up to 10% required, which may include overnight and/or weekend travel
• Highly motivated self-starter with strong orientation for business results
• Strong project management experience (planning, prioritization, objective setting, meeting management, and plan execution)
• Deep understanding of biotech/pharma market trends, vendors, technology platforms and best practices
• Track record of working and delivering on multiple projects simultaneously, with tight deadlines and changing priorities
• Proven experience communicating complex analyses in a simple and clear manner
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Learning agility and ‘scalability’ to take on increasing responsibility as Intercept grows

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $180,000 to $200,000. This represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including, but not limited to, experience, skillset, and performance.
