Medical Review Intake Coordinator
Position Summary
The Medical Review Intake Coordinator is an administration position that works with providers, members, clients, and various internal departments to complete the monitoring and sorting of incoming email. The Intake Coordinator is responsible for reviewing and routing incoming mail. The coordinator also works with other team members to assist in fulfilling tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Monitor Outlook inboxes, retitle email subjects to reflect group number/name.
Sort and reroute incoming mail to correct department from Smart Data Solutions (SDS)
Retrieve responses on medical necessity from American Health Holding FTP Site and update our internal systems accordingly to reflect ruling.
Work closely with the medical review team to identify time sensitive cases
Use Microsoft Outlook and Excel to manage and track case information.
Identify and prioritize time-sensitive tasks effectively.
Communicate with other departments/ providers to obtain necessary information and documentation.
Other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION
High School Education required.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
1+ years administrative experience required
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
Experience within healthcare, claims, third-party administration, or insurance industry preferred
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel programs and can easily learn other data systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
