The Arc of Ocean County is looking for a High School Transition Coordinator Advisor to provide support to 85-100 blind and vision impaired student enrollees in our EDGE program. The High School Transition Coordinator will assist high school students in the following areas:
- Work readiness/independent living skills
- Self-advocacy
- Job exploration counseling
- Work based learning experiences
- Post-secondary transition and counseling
This position is community based with requirements to be on-campus and on-site for scheduled meetings and workshops. Occasional Saturday availability is required.
Schedule: Flexible/remote; some weekends and evenings will be required.
Duties include but are not limited to;
- Reach out to employers to obtain job opportunities for students.
- Coordinate with EDGE Employer Engagement Placement Officer all placement efforts with EDGE 1.0 students.
- Responsible for the Career Focus Placement Plan of EDGE 1.0 students.
- Work on all career-based workplans to include resumes, cover/thank you letters, interviewing skills, networking, competitive placement/stipend, job exploration, etc
- Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred
- Proven experience with those who experience blindness or vision impairment
- Highly proficient in Microsoft and web applications
- Ability to supervise, manage, and direct program
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Social media familiarity and marketing skills preferred
