Cloud Storage Technical Consultant (Full-Time Travel, Weekends Home)
Location: Remote (USA) – Must reside near a major airport
Travel: Full-time travel during the week, home every weekend
Salary: 110K-145K (based on experience)
About the Role:
We are seeking a Cloud Storage Technical Consultant to design, deploy, and optimize hybrid cloud solutions for our clients. This is a client-facing role requiring expertise in cloud platforms, virtualization (VMware), networking fundamentals, and storage infrastructure to ensure seamless cloud integration and performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Hybrid Cloud Strategy & Implementation – Architect, deploy, and optimize hybrid cloud solutions using public and private cloud technologies.
- Virtualization & VMware Management – Configure, manage, and troubleshoot VMware environments (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, NSX) for high availability and efficiency.
- Networking Configuration – Implement and troubleshoot VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and routing protocols to support hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Storage Management – Design and manage storage solutions (SAN, NAS, cloud-based storage) to ensure data redundancy and accessibility.
- Security & Compliance – Ensure hybrid cloud environments align with industry security best practices and compliance standards.
- Performance Optimization – Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to maximize uptime and efficiency.
- Collaboration & Support – Partner with internal teams and clients to provide technical guidance, resolve issues, and support cloud migration initiatives.
- Experience with VMware virtualization technologies (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, NSX)
- Strong understanding of basic networking (firewalls, subnetting, connectivity troubleshooting)
- Hands-on experience with storage solutions (SAN, NAS, cloud-based storage)
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and integration between public/private cloud
- Proficiency in scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, Terraform) is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have):
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- AWS/Azure/GCP Certifications
- Cisco CCNA (Networking Basics)
- Storage Vendor Certifications (NetApp, Dell EMC, etc.)
