We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician for a locum tenens opportunity at our outpatient clinic located within a hospital near Defiance, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity to provide specialized care to high-risk pregnant women while enjoying the flexibility of locum tenens work.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of maternal and fetal complications, exceptional diagnostic and clinical skills, and a patient-centered approach to care. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive MFM services, including specialized ultrasounds, genetic counseling, and management of high-risk pregnancies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and develop individualized care plans.
- Perform a variety of specialized ultrasound procedures to assess fetal well-being and diagnose potential complications.
- Provide genetic counseling to patients facing complex pregnancy decisions.
- Manage high-risk pregnancies, including those with pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, multiple gestations, and fetal anomalies.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, such as obstetricians, neonatologists, and pediatricians, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Practice Details:
- Outpatient clinic setting within a hospital environment.
- Minimal after-hours call responsibilities.
- Busy practice with an average of 40 ultrasounds and 5 consultations per day.
- Flexibility to adjust patient schedules as needed.
- Sole MFM physician in the practice during the locum tenens coverage period.
- Onsite laboratory and ultrasound services available for your convenience.
- Level III nursery on-site for advanced neonatal care.
- Utilize the EPIC/AS Ultrasound Software for efficient documentation.
- Located within a Level I trauma center.
Requirements:
- Board Certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
- Active or ability to obtain Ohio medical license.
- Current BLS certification.
- AIUM Ultrasound Certification.
- Proven expertise in specialized ultrasounds, genetic counseling, and management of high-risk pregnancies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
