Required Duties:
As a Wound Care Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive wound management. Key responsibilities include:
- Treating skin reactions
- Preventing skin breakdown
- Managing vascular ulcers, pressure ulcers, and diabetic ulcers
- Initiating preventative measures
- Applying topical therapies
- Educating patients and their support on care techniques
- Assessing and treating draining wounds and fistulae
- Designing pouch systems for draining wounds and fistulae
- Implementing preventative actions to reduce the incidence of pressure ulcers and vascular ulcers
- Providing instruction on proper wound dressing
- Educating patients on ulcer prevention and treatment
- Hyperbaric treatments
Types of Wounds Treated:
