Are you an experienced orthopedic surgeon looking for a locum tenens opportunity in a scenic area of southern New Mexico? We have an open position for a qualified physician to provide ongoing orthopedic call coverage. Heres an overview of this position:
Position Details: - Role: Orthopedic Surgeon
- Type: Locum Tenens (Temporary)
- Location: Near Arrey, New Mexico
- Coverage Dates: December 23-26 and December 31, with potential for additional dates and ongoing needs.
Responsibilities: - Call Coverage: Call-only position with beeper coverage.
- Practice Setting: Primarily inpatient. No outpatient services are required.
- Patient Care: Involves responding to calls and occasional in-hospital consultations.
- Rounding: Required on inpatients as part of call duties.
- Call Response Time: 30-minute response time required.
- Procedures: Various orthopedic procedures, including but not limited to:
- Arthroscopy
- Total joint replacement (hip and knee)
- Joint revision or repair
- Shoulder and tendon release/repair
- Peripheral nerve surgery
- Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar instrumentation
Qualifications: - Board Certification: Board eligible or board certified in Orthopedic Surgery (required)
- Licensing: Active New Mexico medical license required
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
- Experience with Level 4 Trauma Centers is preferred
- Fellowship Training: Preferred, though not required.

- Insurance: Coverage provided by vendor
- Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 30 days for full credentialing
