Become part of an established healthcare organization dedicated to enhancing the general surgery program in the Richmond, VA area. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic team in the Inpatient Orthopedic Spine Surgery unit.
Position Overview:
As an NP or PA, you will provide comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients with orthopedic spine and general orthopedic post-operative conditions requiring inpatient management. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while working alongside a supportive and collaborative team.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM or 4 ten-hour shifts
- Average Patients per Day: 10-25
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive assessments, treatment plans, and patient education to optimize care for orthopedic, spine, and joint patients.
- Conduct daily rounds with physicians to review and address patient progress in alignment with clinical pathways and best practices.
- Act as a liaison among consulting physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary services, independently ordering necessary services to facilitate patient care.
- Collaborate with Care Managers for discharge planning, including writing prescriptions, medication reconciliation, and providing discharge instructions and summaries.
- Maintain thorough documentation of patient assessments, problems, and management plans.
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to enhance quality and continuity of care.

Qualifications:
- Master s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or equivalent qualification for Physician Assistant.
- Current NP or PA license in Virginia.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
