Assignment Duration: Ongoing, Part-Time Position Overview: Facility seeking experienced Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to join their trauma surgery team. This role involves providing comprehensive care in a Level III trauma center, including emergency general surgery. Ideal candidates will have at least one year of experience and must be board certified or board eligible.
Responsibilities: - Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Day) or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night)
- Preferably cover 5-7 consecutive days per assignment, but will consider 3-4 day stretches.
- Typical Day:
- Respond to trauma activations.
- Conduct daily rounds, including progress notes, H&Ps, and discharge summaries.
- Manage trauma cases including falls, motor vehicle collisions (MVC), and major complications or comorbidities (MCC).
- Handle procedures such as appendectomies, cholecystectomies, exploratory laparotomies, and hernia repairs.
- Patient Load:
- Manage 20-35 inpatients per day/night.
- 50% trauma cases, 45% surgical cases, 5% burn cases.
Qualifications: - Certification:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (NP/PA).
- ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS certifications required.
- Licensing:
- Must hold an active Pennsylvania State License.
- Experience:
- Minimum of one year of relevant trauma surgery experience is preferred.
- Other Requirements:
- Temporary privileges are available to expedite the start date.
