- Neonatal nurse practitioner shifts are 24 hours in-house, with 3 shifts every 2 weeks for full-time employment
- Neonatologist support available 24/7, not in-house
- Lead robust neonatal transport team covering 150 mile radius, using ambulance, helicopter, or fixed wing airplane
- NICU capabilities include care for all gestational ages, various ventilation methods, central line management, retinopathy of prematurity exams, and standard diagnostic services
- Common procedures include intubation, surfactant administration, chest tube placement, IV access, arterial blood sampling, lumbar punctures, and resuscitation
- Daily multidisciplinary rounds with patient s family and various healthcare professionals promote family-centered care
- Pediatric surgical services, ECMO, inhaled nitric oxide therapy, and therapeutic hypothermia not available at Munson Medical Center, requiring transfer to level 4 NICU
