Facility in Peoria, IL seeking Neonatology NP locums coverage Rates: $190/hr Facility is seeking Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs) to provide in-house NICU coverage in Peoria, Illinois. This opportunity involves working with a comprehensive team in a Level IV NICU, managing critical neonatal cases overnight.
Position Details: - Shift Schedule: 7 PM - 7 AM, nightly
- Estimated Shifts per Month: 10
- Setting: Academic medical center with NICU Level IV designation; high-volume delivery hospital
- Support Staff: Attending physicians, fellows, residents, and respiratory therapists available overnight
- NICU Beds: 60-65 beds (includes twin rooms)
Responsibilities: - Patient Load: Manage 15-20 neonatal patients during a 12-hour shift
- Procedures Required:
- Umbilical and central line placements
- Peripherally inserted central lines (PICC)
- Arterial line placement
- Intubation and newborn resuscitation
- Lumbar punctures and chest tube placements
- Additional Competencies: Must be proficient in high-risk delivery resuscitation and stabilization for all gestational ages
Requirements: - Board Certification: Required (or Board Eligible)
- State License: Illinois license required (open to candidates applying for Illinois licensure)
- Certifications: PALS required
- Experience: Prior experience in NICU at a high-volume delivery hospital is essential
- Other Requirements: Must be confident with high-risk deliveries; ECMO not required
