TRAVEL SA OR The Certified Surgical Assistant, is the person who scrubs in at the field and works as the surgeons other hand.They must have a CERTIFICATE/DEGREE in SURGICAL ASSISTING from an accredited school.The certification for this is usually from the NBSTA, National Board of Surgical Technologists and Surgical Assistants, which comes when they sit for and pass their exam.In Virginia, they also have to have a VIRGINA LICENSE, issued from the VDH.2 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN A HOSPITAL SETTING REQUIRED

Day Shift – day shift (16 RN’s, 16 SA’s, and 16 surgical techs) evening shift (tapered to 4 teams from 3-5, 2 teams from 5-7 and 1 team from 7-11p.
