Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated CT Technologist to join our team. The CT Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations using computed tomography (CT) equipment to produce high-quality images for patient diagnosis and treatment planning. This role requires technical expertise, attention to patient care, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CT equipment to produce diagnostic images according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Prepare and position patients for CT scans, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Administer contrast materials as necessary, under the direction of a physician and according to protocols.
- Review and evaluate images for quality and clarity, ensuring accuracy in capturing diagnostic information.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document imaging procedures in the electronic medical record system.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards, minimizing exposure to patients, staff, and self.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance of CT equipment, reporting any technical issues promptly.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results.
- Provide compassionate care and clear communication to patients, explaining procedures and addressing concerns.
Qualifications - Education:
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field (required).
- Bachelor's degree (preferred).
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography and CT.
- State-specific radiologic technologist license (as required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience:
- At least 1-2 years of experience as a CT Technologist (preferred).
- Experience in handling and administering contrast materials (preferred).
Skills and Abilities - Proficient in operating and maintaining CT equipment.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, imaging protocols, and safety standards.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and imaging systems (e.g., PACS).
