2 years Peds acute care experience- must be comfortable with high flow oxygen, spinal fusion, chest tubesCandidates with multiple years’ experience in traveling are first to be consideredMust be willing to do night shift for the first contract

Number of Beds – 36- all private rooms with parent sleeping accommodationsNumber of Staff – 60Day Shift – 1 charge (patient free), 1-3 PCTs (CNAs), occasionally a Clinical Nurse Coordinator as extra resourceNight Shift - 1 charge (patient free), 1-2 PCT’s, occasionally a Clinical Nurse Coordinator as resourceScheduling is very important to the hiring manager - flexibility in schedules is provided to travelers in line with full time employees

Peds Care Unit SpecificsPatient Ratios - Mixed care patients are staffed 1:3 and basic care patients are staffed 1:4Typical procedures: NGTs, Foleys, TP Tubes, PIVs, phlebotomy, occasional LP’sThe department does not manage CPAP, BiPAP, or trach/vents in the department; these cases go to PICU
