Cloudpoint Geospatial is seeking a highly skilled and experienced ArcGIS Enterprise Solutions Architect to join our dynamic team. Cloudpoint specializes in delivering tools and services on Esri’s ArcGIS platform and is currently seeking a highly skilled Enterprise GIS Solutions Architect to join the team. The Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting comprehensive ArcGIS Enterprise GIS systems, both on-premises and in the cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure). This role will be crucial in architecting GIS solutions that meet the needs of Cloudpoint’s clients while adhering to industry best practices.
Illinois Pay Transparency: This role will earn $90,000-$120,000/annual based on experience and qualifications.
This position offers flexibility to work in-office (hybrid schedule) or fully remote, depending on home distance from our Metamora, IL location.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Design, implement, and maintain ArcGIS Enterprise architectures both on-premises and in the cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure).
- Conduct thorough GIS system needs assessments to determine the appropriate number, type, and size of servers required for optimal system performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to ArcGIS Enterprise server performance, security, and scalability.
- Assist with development of detailed system architecture plans, including server configurations, storage, and networking, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and reliable.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Assist with management and optimization of enterprise geodatabases to ensure availability, data integrity, and performance.
- Stay current on GIS technology trends, cloud infrastructure, and best practices in enterprise GIS solutions.
- Lead and mentor junior team members in GIS infrastructure design and implementation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience configuring or administering Esri’s ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, and PostgreSQL/SQL database structures.
- Strong knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise GIS infrastructure, including security, redundancy, and performance optimization.
- Strong knowledge of server architecture and configuration, including determining the number, type, and size of servers for ArcGIS Enterprise systems.
- Experience with both on-premises and cloud-based GIS development and database administration, including the use of common scripting languages like SQL and Python.
- Familiarity of best practices regarding configuration and performance tuning of ArcGIS Server services.
- Familiarity with system monitoring tools (i.e. ArcGIS Monitor, System Log Parser).
- Familiarity with network configuration, load balancing, and cloud-native architecture (e.g. AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with design principles for scalability and high availability in both on-premises and cloud environments.
Desired Qualifications:
- Enterprise Administration Professional Esri Certification.
- General knowledge of IS/IT systems configuration best practices, especially in cloud environments.
- Experience with GIS data integration with other softwares and geospatial web services (WMS, WFS, REST).
