Cloudpoint Geospatial is looking for a technical manager to lead the company’s Infrastructure and Utilities team. This position will lead a team of technical GIS professionals to deliver projects and services for clients such as water utility districts, sanitary districts, highway departments, transportation agencies, and public works organizations. An ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering or a related field with a problem-solving aptitude and strong people skills to address the geospatial needs of existing clients and new prospects. Prospective candidates shall also display professionalism in interfacing with clients, be able to keep organized and thorough notes, and work well independently and collaboratively.
Illinois Pay Transparency: This role will earn $100,000-$125,000/annual based on experience and qualifications.
This position offers flexibility to work in-office (hybrid schedule) or fully remote, depending on home distance from our Metamora, IL location.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Working directly with prospective, new, and existing clients to address their GIS needs and propose solutions
- Performing sales activities, creating cost estimates, and writing technical proposals
- Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Maintaining long-term client relationships and addressing their ongoing GIS needs
- Managing project resources including people, schedules, and budgets
- Supervising and mentoring staff
- Occasional travel to present or exhibit at regional conferences or industry events
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with focus in engineering, physical or natural science, planning, computer science, or a related field
- 10 years of full time experience in the infrastructure or utility industry
- Excellent client facing and internal written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in basic office applications and the ability to learn new hardware and software components
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in design, construction, or maintenance of water utilities, roadways, or related infrastructure assets
- Professional Engineer License; or the ability to obtain PE License within one year from hire.
- GIS Professional certification; or the ability to obtain GISP within 6 months from hire.
- Experience with Esri’s ArcGIS software and solutions
