Gastroenterology Physician at ProLocums summary:
The Gastroenterology Physician is responsible for providing care and treatment for patients with gastrointestinal needs, including on-call coverage and screening procedures on weekends. The role may evolve into a full-time position that includes outpatient clinic responsibilities as required, addressing patient backlogs and ensuring appropriate health screenings and vaccinations are completed. This position is crucial to supplement the local practice amid GI coverage shortages and enhance patient care continuity.
GI Scheduling needs:
We are experiencing shortages in our GI coverage. This has created some difficulty in keeping patients in the hospital with GI needs.
In an effort to supplement our local practice, we would like to start with locums coverage each week from Friday through Sunday. To start, the locums provider would be on call for the full time that they are on shift. Fridays would also include screening procedures to assist with a backlog.
This service could grow to a more full time program as needed. Full time program could also include some outpatient clinic time.
