A DAY IN THE LIFE of a Sustainability Intern
AAA, The Auto Club is seeking a passionate Sustainability Intern to join a small team dedicated to prioritizing a sustainable future here at ACG. This exciting position will offer the opportunity for growth in practical research, reporting, and presentation skills, as well as relevant and engaging fieldwork.
Assist mentor in calculating greenhouse gas emissions and planning mitigation/reduction
Complete various sustainability projects, including the management of a volunteer event for employees
Research current sustainability topics/news and present findings to leadership
In this position, you will have the opportunity to:
Analyze historical utility (electricity, natural gas, etc.) and vehicle fuel usage data, greenhouse gas emission reports, and vehicle efficiency data
Gain experience in data extraction and validation capabilities and auditing
Gain relevant experience and understanding of sustainability within business
Learn how to collect pertinent data and verify its accuracy
Learn how to develop executive presentations and aid in subsequent creation

Required Qualifications
Education:
Must be at least a college junior, fully enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program at an accredited university, with a minimum 3.0 GPA
Must be studying Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or related field
Skills:
Strong interpersonal savvy, communication skills, organization skills, and strong situational adaptability
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong researching skills using various databases
Experience manipulating and managing data
Experience with PC software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
Knowledge of:
Ability to:
Learn the full range ACG products, services and functions to perform the responsibilities of assigned job
Assist internal/external client in response to questions, requests and resolution of problems
Review records, system files, reports, etc. to ensure correct information is reflected and/or assigned
Gather data and prepare/track reports
Assist and/or develop reports/presentations/recommendations for management review
Work independently and on teams

Compensation and Time Commitment
The Auto Club Group will provide compensation of $21.75/hour for 40 hours/week. The interns will be expected to report during the hours of 9:00am – 6:00pm (ET) Monday through Friday for the entirety of the twelve (12) week semester. The 2025 summer internship program begins May 19th and runs until August 8th.
Work Environment
This position is currently able to work remotely from a home office location for day-to-day operations, however occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, and/or team building activities is expected if the candidate is regional. This is subject to change based on amendments and/or modifications to the ACG Flex Work policy.

ACG’s Compensation philosophy is to provide a market-competitive structure of fair, equitable and performance-based pay to attract and retain excellent talent that will enable ACG to meet its short and long-term goals. ACG utilizes a geographic pay differential as part of the base salary compensation program.
